LICENSE TYPES
Class "A" General Contractor - Class A, General Contractor. A Class A License shall entitle the holder thereof to construct, remodel, repair, and demolish any structure. The annual Class A License fee shall be $200. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "B" Building Contractor - Class B, Building Contractor. A Class B License shall entitle the holder thereof to construct, remodel, repair, and demolish all structures not exceeding three stories in height. A Class B License shall also entitle the license holder to perform non-structural remodeling, tenant-finish, and repairs of all structures. The annual Class B License fee shall be $200. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "C" Residential Contractor - Class C, Residential Contractor. A Class C License shall entitle the holder thereof to construct, remodel, repair, and demolish single family or duplex residences and buildings accessory thereto. The annual Class C License fee shall be $200. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "DM" Mechanical Contractor - Class D Mechanical. A Class DM License shall entitle the holder thereof to perform HVAC services. The annual Class DM License fee shall be $200. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "DE" Electrical Contractor - Class D Electrical Contractors. A Class DE License shall entitle the holder thereof to perform Electrical contractor services. The annual Class License fee shall be $200. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "DP" Plumbing Contractor - Class D Plumbing. A Class DP License shall entitle the holder thereof to perform Plumbing services. The annual Class DP License fee shall be $200. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "DF" Fire Protection Contractor - Class D Fire Protection. A “Class D-F License” shall entitle the holder thereof to install, maintain, repair, service, test, and inspect automatic sprinkler and standpipe systems for all structures, including all spray and deluge, carbon dioxide, foam, dry chemical, and inert gas systems, and all related lines, tanks, fire control systems, and appurtenances to any of the foregoing. Such contractor shall be responsible for the training and oversight of all tradesmen in its employment as well as the means, method, and manner of the fire protection installation including construction, improvement, renovation, repair, and maintenance on a construction project. The annual Class D-F License fee shall be $200.00. There is a one time Registration Fee of $100.00 applied to all new company applications.
Class "DR" Roofing Contractor - Class D Roofing. A “Class D-R License” shall entitle the holder thereof to install, maintain, repair, replace, and remove the roof assembly of any structure, including the roof deck, vapor retarder, substrate, thermal barrier, insulation, and roof coverings of all types. The annual Class D-R License fee shall be $200.00.
Class "DS" Swimming Pool Contractor - Class D Swimming Pool Contractor. A class DS Swimming Pool license shall entitle the holder thereof to install outdoor or indoor, above ground, or below ground swimming pools, spas, or hot tubs, including installations of solar heating and appurtenant equipment associated with such construction. The annual Class D-S License fee shall be $200.00.
Class "DW" Wood Framing Contractor - Class D Wood Framing Contractor. A “Class D-W License” shall entitle the holder thereof to install, maintain, repair, alter, or add to any wood framing or rough carpentry necessary to construct framed wooden structures, including but not limited to, sub-flooring, siding, exterior staircases, wood decks, associated guard rails, wood framed walls, wood framed ceilings and roof assemblies, structural wood components, engineered wood products, doors, windows, and sheathing. Such contractor shall be responsible for the training and oversight of all tradesmen in its employment as well as the means, method, and manner of construction, improvement, renovation, repair, and maintenance on a construction project including any wood framing and rough carpentry. The qualification method: A Class D-W license applicant may qualify for a Class D-W License by obtaining certification by successfully passing a test approved by the Board. A Class D-W License applicant may also qualify for licensure by education or by any other method approved by these Regulations. In addition, until December 31, 2010, a D-W License may be obtained upon verification that a person or a firm’s designated representative has not less than 5 years of full-time experience in the trade. (Qualifications based on experience for a Class D-W License have been extended until June 30, 2011.)
